ANCHORS FOR FALL PROTECTION
Anchor points are a vital part of a personal fall protection system. they are the critical component that connect Lifelines, Lanyards, Fall Arrestors and Rescue Kits to the permanent structure.
Anchoring for Fall Protection can be successfully done in several ways using the permanent structure where possible. An example of this is when Anchor Slings are wrapped around columns or starter bars to support each end of a horizontal lifeline.
Clamps are made to straddle walls or parapets, underslung clamps provide anchorage from steel sections.
Scissorsafe is unique because it inserts into Voids that are shaped into concrete slabs by fixing plastic formers onto the formwork.
The Scissorsafe Anchorage System is certified to BS EN 795 class B- Portable Anchorages, Independently assessed under strict conditions to comply with the requirements of European Conformity.
COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
A Scissorsafe Void Former is an expendable plastic cast-in component used to form anchorage points in concrete that allow the insertion of a Scissorsafe re-usable anchor device to connect personal fall protection systems to for Work Restraint or Fall Arrest .
Scissorsafe Void Formers consist of two parts
Nailing Disk
Tee Shaped Void Former
The Nailing Disk is fixed to the Formwork decking.
Then the tee- shaped former is pushed on top of it.
When concrete is poured a void is formed for the Scissorsafe Anchor.
Scissorsafe Anchor’s are inserted and deployed in this void when fall arrest or work restraint anchorage is required.
The unique nature of this anchorage system means that the anchor isn’t friction reliant to support the fall arrest system connected to it.
