A descent / rescue kit is an essential piece of equipment for those who work at and are at risk of falling from height.
A Rescue Kit is used when someone is suspended after falling from a structure wearing a full body harness connected to a Work Restraint or Fall Arrest System because it is critical that the faller is rescued quickly from this state of suspension without enduring further falls from rescuers.
The components that make up this Rescue kit will help to recover a fallen casualty but It is strongly advised that anyone working at height on an exposed leading edge should receive Rescue Training using this equipment in a live site situation.
An Extendable Rescue Pole that holds a small double action hook in its gate open position. This allows the rescuer to locate the hook into the fallers harness anchor point. Upon connection, the pole is removed, the safety gate closes and automatically locks.
An integral crank handle is activated to disengage the automatic lower off, and by turning the handle the lifting facility is gained.
Its brakes are controlled by centrifugal forces which maintain a constant descent speed.
The casualty is raised up to the original work area or just raised sufficiently to release the used fall arrest device, before re-engaging the automatic function to lower the casualty.
A length of 10mm dia. kernmantle rope ( 20,30 40 metres plus longer lengths on special order) with double action hooks at each end.Â
For anchorage options we include a 1 metre webbing sling. a steel screw-gate karabiner kept a Purpose made rescue tackle bag to keep in a good working condition with User Instructions & Inspection card
