IKAR HRA18 Fall arrest block / inertia reel / retractable type fall arrester, with built in two-way rescue/ recovery mechanism

This Controlled descent fall arrest Block carries a Declaration of Conformity to EN360

• Aluminium housing, with a galvanised steel cable lifeline

• With release pin and two-way winding handle, to engage rescue/recovery mode

• Fixed handle anchor attachment point

• Attachment/connection handle or can be fitted to a davit or tripod via a bracket

• Aluminium double action hook on end of lifeline to EN362

The Ikar HRA Fall arrest device with rescue lifting and lowering facility, equipped with a recovery mechanism operated by a device mounted handle.  After an arrested fall, or if the user becomes incapacitated at the bottom of a shaft, the recovery mechanism can easily be engaged by a second person to raise or lower the person to a place of safety.

A self-retracting fall arrest block that comes with an integral rescue recovery winch facility is most commonly used for confined space applications. It enables the rescuer to raise or lower the casualty in an emergency.

Working in a similar way to a car safety belt, during normal use the user moves freely whilst the galvanised steel cable lifeline is kept under permanent tension.

In the event of a fall the locking system will activate and the internal brake disk will absorb energy to well below the 6kN limit required by the DIN EN 360 standard.

In the case of a rescue, the rescue/recovery function is quickly activated by snapping the side handle into place. The cable drum is permanently locked to the handle shaft and by rotating the handle the casualty can be either lifted or lowered to a place of safety. The rescue/recovery function can be activated whether the cable is on free run or from the locked position after an arrested fall.

The HRA can be anchored directly to a suitable anchorage point via the attachment handle or alternatively can be mounted on a rescue tripod.

The IKAR HRA Fall Arrest Device is not suitable for use over a leading edge and has not been edge tested.
