IKAR H SERIES SELF-RETRACTING FALL ARRESTOR

Retractable fall arrestors function like a car seat belt, a re-coiling main spring keeps the lifeline in light tension, allowing it to respond in the event of a fall.

If the extraction speed of the lifeline exceeds 0.5m/sec, the brake system is activated and will lock into place. resulting in the deceleration of the faller.

IKAR H Series Self-Retracting Fall Arrestors are manufactured with an aluminium casing containing a galvanised steel cable lifeline.
H series Fall Arrest Blocks are designed for situations where a longer lifeline is needed protected by a robust casing and are particular suited for precast stair installation.
They have a fixed handle attachment point for connecting to vertical or horizontal anchor points and are delivered with a 50kN karabiner.
An Aluminium double action hook connects this Fall Arrest Block to the users safety harness.
These fall arrestors carry a Declaration of Conformity to EN360 and EN362 for the Connector.

Anchor Points for Fall Arrest

It is strongly recommended to plan anchorage points so that the user can operate within a horizontal distance no greater than the equivalent of 30 degrees from it.
The implication of working beyond this distance is the risk of pendulum swing which puts the user at risk of collision with any object in his way.
Pendulum swing will occur in a fall event if the anchorage point is not located directly above the fallers head.
