This site based training course delivers the following syllabus.

PERSONAL FALL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (PFPE)

We aim to communicate a good understanding of working whilst using Personal fall protection equipment in line with the code of practise for the selection, use and maintenance of personal fall protection systems BS8437:2005.

PRE-USE INSPECTION OF PERSONAL FALL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT

Demonstrate the correct way to inspect a safety harness and connecting component.

How to identifying damaged or worn components and maintenance, cleaning and storage of them.

FALL ARREST
Fall arrest is the final step in the hierarchy of control for preventing falls at work, and should only be used after all other options have been considered.
A fall arrest system connects the user to the structure and is designed to arrest the free fall of the user by decelerating them through a short arrest distance by applying an arresting force.

Trainees are encouraged to participate in every aspect of this training and to ask for further demonstration or explanation if they are unsure.

TRAINING ENVIRONMENT
The full course can be conducted in a safe area of the structure with Temporary edge protection in place.
SUPERVISOR TRAINING
Upon completion of Training, Supervisors are invited to review the course content.

CERTIFICATION
Upon successful completion each delegate will be provided with a certificate carrying a 36 month validity period for this specific application.
